Three Fabulous Jewish Things to Know: Session 1

Three Fabulous Jewish Things to Know

A mini-series for all adults, especially ones who don’t usually take classes at synagogues Sunday Mornings in October, right after religious school drop-off “Ta-shma!” come and learn (as the rabbis of the Talmud say). Come hang out and dive deep into Jewish ideas with your Bet Shalom community and explore three interesting (and sometimes provocative) areas of Jewish thought. You don’t need to know anything about the topics in advance, be Jewish, or know Hebrew to join us (but you won't be bored if you do know a thing or two!). Each class will have a unique topic, so if you have to miss a session, you won’t be behind. Come and hang out and learn! We will look at texts ancient and contemporary, talk with each other about big ideas, and think about how they might apply to our lives.

This class will be taught by Rabbi Jason Rodich, a native of St. Louis Park who recently returned to Minnesota after eight years at Congregation Emanu-El in San Francisco. Rabbi Rodich was ordained from HUC-JIR Los Angeles in 2014, where he was a Wexner Graduate Fellow. While in San Francisco, he led a young adult community within Emanu-El of 400+ Jews in their 20s and 30s while also leading social justice work, teaching, and serving on the pulpit. He’s currently being trained to be an executive and life

coach while spending lots of time with his husband and their 2.5-year-old and 6-month-old.
