What is "A Serious Man"?
Is it merely the title of the 2009 Coen Brothers’ movie, a Job-like story that asks more questions than it answers?
Is it a highly exaggerated cluster of stereotypes and caricatures that mock our optimism and dash our hopes for meaning in life?
Is it a riddle that we keep in our mind as we watch this escapade that triggers nostalgia for a time and place that helped us to become who we are today?
Or is it a serious formula like the Biblical book of Job for dealing with the age-old questions of good and evil, reward and punishment and God’s role in the world?
A Serious Man was released in 2009 and the book of Job many years before that, but they still speak to contemporary issues. Join us for two sessions on ZOOM in October.
