Are you interested in wild birds? Quietly watching, photographing, studying, or simply enjoying nature? Then there’s a new group for you! Bet Shalom members have started a group for those who would like to participate in informal, socially-grounded birding walks and other related activities. Prior birding knowledge and experience are not required, and all ages (including kids who are interested in birds) are welcome.
To accommodate members’ different schedules and to take advantage of special opportunities that may arise, some activities will be scheduled on weekends and others on weekdays. Most activities will be scheduled in the morning when birds generally are more active. To further promote social relationships, informal coffee meetings, brunches, or trail picnics will be scheduled after birding activities.
Sunday May 1, 8:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Purgatory Creek Park Pavilion, 13001 Technology Drive, Eden Prairie, MN, 55344. Restrooms are available close to the Paviliion. The wetlands for viewing waterfowl and raptors also are a short walk from the Pavilion. If you plan to attend please contact Brian Shapiro (bps5252@gmail.com). If you arrive late, hike down to the wetlands and turn right. If you don’t see us, send a text to Brian Shapiro (763-218-2866). After we’re done birding, those who are able to stay longer are invited to socialize over bring-your-own beverages and snacks at a Pavilion picnic table.
Contact birding@betshalom.org if you are interested in attending or would like more information.
