The Minor Prophets (With Dr. Nick Schaser)

CLICK HERE for our April 2 handout.

The minor prophets represent a collection of shorter books in the Jewish Bible that share the wide spectrum of experiences and approaches held by a number of prophets between the 8th and 4th centuries BCE. The books are referred to as “minor” because of their length, not their significance, and include the stories of Hosea, Amos, Micah, Jonah, and many others.

Please join Dr. Nick Schaser from Macalester College to explore the overarching themes and significance of the Minor Prophets in Jewish history and tradition. These sessions will prepare our “Beyond Torah” class to continue studies of the Tanach (the Jewish Bible) with the book of Hosea in April.

All Bet Shalomians are welcome to join these study sessions on Thursdays at 11:00am.

Dr. Schaser’s first class was taught on March 5. CLICK HERE to watch his lecture. He will join the class again on March 26 and April 2.
