We had a wonderful week in the Yarok room. This was our third week of our construction study. We built our own house out of cardboard. The kids painted it red, their choice. We cut out a door, and the kids made windows to put on the house. We made a roof out of cardboard, and used felt shapes to look like roof shingles . Finally we landscaped the house with flowers and grass. It turned out really cute.
The letter of the week was Tt. We brainstormed words that started with T. The kids were able to come up with over twenty words. The kids brought in a show and tell that started with Tt. Also the three letters we learned so far are s, a and t. We were able to make the word “sat”. We introduced rhyming words using the at words cat, bat and pat…
We started the week celebrating Colette’s birthday which was on Sunday.
We had Hebrew with Rabbi Crimmings. The kids learned how to say snow and white in Hebrew. Also they played a game following directions, similar to Simone Says.
The best part of the week was when we played outside in the snow. The kids had fun using shovels, making snow balls and sliding around in the snow. We are very proud all the kids were able to put their snow clothes on with ease.
Next week is our final week of construction. We will be making construction labs, and exploring different versions of The Three Little Pigs, as well as some STEM activities. The letter of the week is Ii. Please bring an item that starts with Ii for show and Tell.
