Happy Friday Tzahov and Katom families. We are super excited to welcome Katom families and new babies, Alex and Edith. They have been a joy to get to know this week.
Our new theme of Weather Watchers is in full swing. We introduced new songs that highlight rain, clouds, and the sun. Some of the babies favorites already are “Mr. Sun”, “Itsy Bitsy Spider”, and “Rain, Rain Go Away”. The lyrics to other new songs are in the photos if you want to sing them at home.
We brought in new books, some of which are giant! The babies definitely have their favorite books which keep their attention longer, but the giant weather books are a great tool for teaching about hats, mittens, and warm socks! Cut-outs of mittens, boots, warm socks, hats, and jackets are on the Velcro board this month. The babes noticed them immediately and have enjoyed putting the hats on their heads. It’s amazing to see the associations they are making between the cut-outs and their own winter clothing.
Most of our week was spent doing free play. The babes have guided their own independent play time exploring the room and providing us with great insight on how they want to play. Many items were used as telephones like rattles and blocks. Other toys were used to play peek a boo. It’s fun to watch their social interactions with each other, as well.
Music this week was led by Rabbi Crimmings. It was a lively time full of silly songs and dancing. We all love getting together as a whole school especially seeing our recent Tzahov graduates.
We are looking forward to next week where new interactive song props and floor decor will be introduced.
Have a wonderful and warm weekend.
Fondly, Miss Heidi, Miss Sarah, Miss Hannah, and Miss Rosie
