It’s a winter wonderland outside and inside with new snowflake decor hanging from the ceiling.
This week focused on naming what we wear in colder weather. The babies played with a baby doll wearing a hat, mittens, booties and even a jacket. It’s good practice and a great fine motor skill to learn how to not only take off items, but put them on as well.
During circle time, raindrop, sun and cloud props were introduced to enhance the songs. Having items to hold while we sing and dance energizes the babies to participate even more.
We decorated our window with the children’s art. This week, the babies made weather themed sun catchers using tissue paper. They made raindrops, clouds and suns. The colors shine through the window and it’s a fun display for them to look at.
The babies ventured to the big room this week for some fun! They love building towers with the brick blocks and pushing strollers and carts all over the room. They love the big space to move about freely.
Our older babes have been working on simple shape puzzles and placing simple shapes in sorters.
Our younger babes, especially in Katom, have enjoyed lots of songs and books. They love hearing “Mr. Sun” and listening to Sandra Boyton books.
Next week we have a special project planned to help teach the Jewish value of Gemilut Hasadim, which means acts of love and kindness. We will also start working on our Thanksgiving day art projects.
We hope everyone stays warm and has a lovely weekend.
