Happy February Tzahov and Katom families. This week flew by fast. We had a lot of fun with our new theme of opposites! The babes enjoyed looking at books, but in addition to reading the books and looking at pictures, they were introduced to the vocabulary of open and close.
They practiced a lot and really loved the rush of air when closing the books quickly. The Foot Book was read thousands of times and has wonderful examples of opposites! Open and close were also highlighted when playing with the pop up toy, the Little People farm house, and the playhouse. The Velcro board was updated with pictures of opposites. The babes loved pulling the pictures off the wall and it has provided visuals for opposite vocabulary.
February is I love to Read month and Bet Shalom is having a book drive. The babes helped decorate a book drop off box which is accessible to you right outside our door. We are accepting new and gently used books for all ages and will be donating them to Jewish Family and Children Services, specifically the Parent Child+ and Hag Sameach program. Thank you in advance for your contributions to this great cause.
New songs were introduced and were sung all week. The Grand Old Duke of York is a lap song and the babes really enjoy the fun ride. Smiles galore!! Open, Shut Them involves hand gestures and a little tickling. It draws a lot of attention from babies who excitedly wait for their turn.
Bubble time this week was a popular and frequently requested activity. It’s amazing how quickly bubbles can uplift any mood.
Even though this week was a lot of fun, it was bittersweet. Merlin’s last day in Tzahov was Wednesday. We will miss him dearly but we know we can visit him anytime in the toddler room. Best wishes, Merlin. You are a sweetheart! Noa’s last day in Tzahov is today (Friday). We wish you an easy transition in your new school. Our last year with you has been a lot of fun and very special. We will miss you so much! We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
Lovingly,Miss Heidi, Miss Sarah, Miss Rosie, and Miss Hannah
