What a fun week we had exploring shapes. Singing songs, reading books, and stacking blocks have all been favorite activities this week. We’ve had a lot of babies out recovering from the stomach bug, so many of our activities were one on one.
One really fun small group activity we were able to do is bring out shape finger puppets. The babes were all interested and enjoyed the songs and stories.
The teachers came up with a new song that was a big hit, sung to the tune of “Row, Row, Row Your Boat”. Sing along… It’s super catchy!
Rectangle, triangle, circle and a square, all are shapes that you can find, shapes are everywhere!!
Another big activity, especially with our mobile babies was the climber. The babies were able to practice climbing, going backwards down the stairs, and feeling independent and confident with their large motor skills.
Our youngest babies have been practicing sitting on their own, tummy time, and rolling over. They are also enjoying their reflection and standing or doing tummy time in front of a mirror.
On Monday, it was fun to see everyone who dressed in their jammies. We all loved being so comfortable.
In the middle of the week, we all enjoyed music with Miss Shana. Her enthusiasm and fun songs keep everyone entertained.
On Thursday, we played in the big room. Our mobile babies enjoyed pushing toys and hearing their voices in the big space.
Also on Thursday, we went on an indoor walk. Changing the environment always provides something new and interesting.
We plan to close the week with a ball party. We’ve noticed that the babes are getting more coordinated and are better abled at throwing balls.
We hope you all have a healthy, warm, and safe weekend.
Warmly,Miss Heidi, Miss Sarah, Miss Rosie, and Miss Hannah
