Wow! We can’t believe how quickly June has flown by in Tzahov. This week we wrapped up this month’s theme and celebrated Ellie’s 1 year birthday. We hope you had a wonderful birthday celebration, Ellie!
The babes got a chance to get messy with some finger paints this week. The teachers put painters tape on a piece of paper creating the four main shapes we’ve been talking about, squares, circles, triangles and rectangles. After the babies were finished painting and the piece dried, we removed the tape to reveal the shapes they created. Their works of art can be seen hanging in the hallway.
In celebration of the 4th of July we decorated our bookshelf with American Flags. This was another great visual to talk about squares, rectangles and stars. We even snuck in some vocabulary, identifying red, white and blue. On Friday we will add our red, white and blue toys to the shelves to even further our discussion of America’s colors.
When we return from the long weekend we will transition to our new theme of All Kinds of Animals. The first week we plan to focus on barn animals. In addition, we want to welcome back all of the Katom babies. They will be joining our classroom for the months of July and August. We are excited to have them in our classroom again.
Happy 4th of July weekend!
Fondly, Miss Sarah and Miss Heidi
