Happy Friday Tzahov/Katom families, it may have been cold and cloudy outside, but inside, it was warm and sunny with happy, smiley babies.
Highlights this week included filling and dumping buckets, a new picture lift the flap board, and water play.
There were many opportunities to emphasize opposite vocabulary when filling and dumping buckets. We repeated the words in and out and empty and full. We also practiced counting as the babies filled the buckets.
A new house themed picture board was created and the babies were very curious. There are flaps to open and close with friends to see behind windows, doors, and even a garage. The play house structure gave even more opportunities to label opposites while opening and closing the door and window, turning the light on and off, and putting toys in the mail box and taking them out.
Water play is always a highlight for the babes. To have the chance to splash to their heart’s content is oh so fun! The teachers talk about wet hands/dry hands on a daily basis when washing hands and the babies love to splash water in the sink so to have their own bucket? Glorious!!
When singing this week, we drew attention to the opposites in Itsy, Bitsy Spider and had a lot of fun with This is Big. (See the words in last week’s pictures) The toy kitchen structure plays an opposite song when the littles “make toast” or turn on the water. It’s so fitting for this month’s theme!
Next week, our focus will be on/off and happy/sad. We will have flashlight fun and tissue paper art. We hope you have a wonderful weekend.
