Tzahov Room צהוב (Infants)

Happy Spring Tzahov/ Katom families!

Some big changes for the month of April. We are happy to welcome some new faces to our classroom. It’s been fun getting to know Gavin and McKenna from Katom, as well as working with the lovely Miss Noa. We welcome Zoe and her family to our Tzahov family and are enamored by her already.

This month we are focusing on opposites and have introduced many vocabulary words. When washing hands, we talk about wet hands and dry hands, or dirty and clean. When going in the highchair, we talk about up and down or in and out. We have a lot of toys emphasizing these vocabulary words as we play. Books read this week include, Sandra Boynton’s “Opposites”, Dr. Seuss’s “The Foot Book” and “Big Dog…Little Dog” by P.D. Eastman. The babies constantly bring us books to read throughout the day. Song sessions were frequent this week as it alters the mood in the room. It’s fascinating how instantaneously the babies are drawn to music.

Songs that fit our theme are, “Wheels on the Bus”, “Brave Old Duke of York”, “Open Shut Them” and “Three Little Fish”. Lyrics are included in the pictures below.

Next week, will bring more circle time filled with books, songs and vocabulary. We also plan to create some art.

Warmly, Miss Heidi, Miss Sarah and Miss Noa
