(Cue music) Track 1: Do You Want To Build A Snowman? Track 2: Walking In A Winter Wonderland! We couldn’t help but sing these songs this week as we played with recycled boxes made into snowmen.
As the saying goes… give a baby a new toy and they’ll play with the box! There are so many things we can do with recycled materials! The babes are still enjoying our classroom’s extra large recycled box snow den and this week, the babes footprints were added to the entrance. The babies love playing in and around the snow den.
Art this week was gluing fabric pieces to a paper hat. All of the babies experienced glue for the first time. The hat was covered with glue and the babies were given a pile of fabric pieces. It was fun to observe each babe’s experience. In some cases, glue got all over their hands and the fabric pieces stuck to their hands. The babes were confused, but also intrigued when trying to shake off the pieces of fabric. The finished art is hanging outside of our classroom for all of BSY to see and will be sent home next week before winter break.
Circle time included an extra large book, Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear by Eric Carle? Also read this week was Will You Wear A Blue Hat by Scholastic books. It’s a wonderful rhythmic story about putting on a winter jacket, hat, scarf, mittens, and boots. The babies are incredibly attentive and truly love story time.
Thursday was the last night of Chanukah. Over the last 2 weeks, we have had loads of fun singing Chanukah songs, spinning the dreidel, and reading Chanukah books. Whatever holiday you are celebrating this month, we hope the spirit of your holiday shines brightly.
Warmly, Miss Heidi, Miss Sarah, and Miss Lauren
