Tzahov Room צהוב (Infants)

Welcome back and Happy Chanukah to those who celebrate. A special farewell to Marni. She has graduated to the toddler room. You will be missed sweetheart. And Happy Birthday to Leo, who turned one on Thursday.

We kicked off this week with our new theme of Winter Wonderland, which included a newly constructed snow den, penguins and snowballs, new sensory bottles, Chanukah decorations, new songs, books and art. Phew! What a busy week it has been in the infant room.

We love recycled wardrobe boxes. They make great play dens for the kids. It is a cozy hangout for the kids to hide and play peekaboo with one another. The interior has penguins and snowballs for kids to throw around and snuggle.

Sensory bottles were added to the classroom for the kids to investigate. A tall bottle was filled with cotton balls and decorated on the outside to look like a snowman. It is so cute. Additionally, other bottles had essential oils added to create a wonderful winter smell in the room. Wafts of peppermint and orange cinnamon fill the room as the babes squeeze the bottles. So soothing.

New books and songs have been introduced. Songs such as, “I’m a Little Snowman”, “Snowflake, Snowflake” and “5 Little Snowman.”

In celebration of Chanukah, we have decorated the room with signs of menorah and dreidels. We have been singing, “I Have a Little Dreidel” while we spin our own plush dreidel and lighting our pretend candles on the menorah.

We also have an assortment of winter themed books to read about polar bears, snowman and Olaf from Frozen.

Lastly, the kiddos created their own melting snowman by either painting with a brush or fingerprinting, by default. The kids love the texture of the paint.

We hope everyone stays safe and has a lovely weekend.
Sincerely, Miss Sarah, Miss Heidi and Miss Lauren
