Hello Sagol families and welcome to summer session at BSY! What an exciting time to be seeing your faces in person again at drop-off and pick-up!
We had a great kickoff to our season with many new friends joining our class and hot weather to enjoy the outdoor sprinkler.
The theme this week was about pond life! We sang some favorite songs about ducks, frogs, and turtles to start learning about what lives in a pond.
We focused on frogs first and made little props to sing “Five Green and Speckled Frogs” at circle time along with the book, Being Frog by April Sayre. During snack we read Three Stre-e-etchy Frogs by Dawn Bentley, then during lunch we read the book Pond Circle by Besty Franco.
We hope to see some of these critters out by the Bet Shalom pond on our walks!
Before snack each day we have a little time so say good morning and we helped new friends learn our song, “Good Morning, Boker Tov” and everyone learned an old favorite, “Tov, Tov, Tov” by Lisa Baydush. We love to use shakers or use our hands to pat our knees with the music.
Throughout the week, returning students practiced welcoming new children into the classroom and teaching the preschool routine together.
In the summer when the weather cooperates, we get to play outside in the sprinkler during our playground time! Thank you to parents for sending swim suits and sunscreen already so everyone can have fun and stay safe outside every day :).
Next week we will observe the water, plant life, and bugs that also live around the pond in the summer.
Shabbat Shalom, Have a great weekend!
Ms. Maddie and Mr. Benny
