We had a short but fun week this week. The students are enjoying the kitchen for dramatic play. There are construction vehicles in the sensory table with the beans and many of the children have enjoyed moving the beans around in the dump truck. We will keep the kitchen and beans until the end of the month.
In art this week we played catch up on the letter projects. Some of the children had some to make up for their binders. The binders will be going home with you at conferences. We also had art with Ms. Beth on Monday, where the students painted with golf balls.
On Friday we made fish after reading the book Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister. Rainbow Fish is about learning to share.
We have spent time talking about kind words this week. We also have talked about making good choices. Of course, we will revisit these topics again.
We read several books about Passover this week. In music we learned Passover songs. The students enjoyed singing them. We also read an alphabet books with names in it. First we put each student’s name on the board under the first letter of their name. Then we added the names from the alphabet book. We also read a book about famous spots in Minnesota. We have several stuffed animals that live in Minnesota and two of the birds make their calls when you squeeze them. The loon is particularly popular. We will continue to talk about Minnesota for the next few weeks. We will learn more about the wildlife, places, and spring in Minnesota.
Have a wonderful weekend (and week off),
Ms. Katie and Mr. Benny
