Shabbat Shalom! This week was still all about learning how to be an all-star preschooler! We focused a lot on our Listening Rules and practiced being safe and kind in the classroom.
Monday we got back into our regular fall schedule and went to art class with Miss Beth! She showed us her awesome model trains and then helped the class make their own trains out of paper. For an extra special touch, everyone got fun letters to spell their names on their train!
We also made some bonus artwork in our room with pretty watercolor paint! Everyone helped create our new front door sign.
Tuesday during group time we started to talk about Rosh Hashanah (the start of the Jewish year) and learned a few fun songs that we sing for the holiday. We also continued practicing our Listening Rules by playing a game following the motions for eyes watching, ears listening, voices quiet, and bodies calm. A new favorite center on Tuesday was the easel open with dot-dot paints! Everyone took turns free-painting on big paper.
On Wednesday the favorite toys were legos to make rocket ships, and translucent light table blocks to stack for cool towers!
It was also music class on Wednesday where we got together with the rest of the school to sing Jewish music, and started learning more songs for Rosh Hashanah!
Due to the super stormy and rainy week, we spent our large motor time in the big room playing running games and building with blocks or train tracks.
Thursday was picture day! A super fun day to get to see everyone dressed up in nice outfits. To keep us pumped up and excited for our crazy day of pictures, we played music and danced away the rainy morning! It can be uncomfortable getting your picture taken as a preschooler but everyone tried really hard to let loose and smile.
Friday is our special person Shabbat at 9am! Colette will be the Shabbat helper.
Next week is “All About Me” where we’ll share who we are and get to know our classmates better!
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
