Katom Room כתום (Infants)

Hello Katom Families,

November has flown by which means we are wrapping up our theme for this month of Bill Martin Jr. We can’t believe it’s already December which means we will be introducing a new theme. Our new theme for the upcoming month is winter wonderland. We are excited to decorate the room and have the children enjoy the winter wonderland.

We did a small, but fun art project  that coordinates with our theme. We cut out circles to create a classroom Caterpillar that is inspired by the book the The Vey Hungry Caterpillar. We incorporated the children’s handprints to include on the circles.

This week we gathered many puzzles to do during circle time and throughout the day with the children. It was a great way to see what the children know and teach them new things.

Next week we will say goodbye to Gavin, our oldest child in Katom, he will be moving to Kahol for a brief time before moving to Wisconsin. He started in Katom as a baby and quickly grew into a toddler. Gavin is a smart and kind child. We have enjoyed having him so much and will miss him! We are excited to see him start this new journey.

A Jewish value we focused on this week is Gemilut Chasadim. Gemilut Chasadim means to be kind and do good deeds. Our classroom practices this important Jewish value in many ways. We teach our children to play gently with one another and be aware of others. We make it a priority to teach phases such as “ that’s as very kind” or “ that wasn’t very kind” to show awareness of others.

Please feel to reach out if you have any questions. We hope you have a great Friday!
