Katom Room כתום (Infants)

Happy Friday Katom families! We are excited to announce we welcomed another friend. Kayson is a lovely child who is 7 weeks old (Kayson is Amber’s son). We are looking forward to seeing him grow and learn.

This week as the temperatures dropped we looked for more cozy and active activities. We transformed the room by adding Gymboree blocks. The children loved climbing on them!

With our class growing, circle time has changed. We’ve enjoyed the fuller energy during circle time. We have a bigger audience to read books and have more sounds when playing with musical instruments.

As we continue our monthly theme of the renowned author, Bill Martin Jr. we wanted to share the importance of reading to children. Here is a link for further information – https://www.healthline.com/health/childrens-health/reading-to-children

This week we focused on the Jewish Value, derech eretz. Derech eretz means to behave, have good manners, and to have common courtesy. We practice this in many ways in our classroom. We encourage children to share toys. We teach them to be polite by using “please” and “thank you”. Modeling clean and respectful language is important to us as well as courtesy gestures between the teachers.

We hope your weekend is snow wonderful! Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
