Katom Room כתום (Infants)

Hello Katom families,

We hope you are having a wonderful week! Our class will be growing gradually over the next couple months. On Monday we welcomed a new student, Mason. Mason is 3 months old and his sister is a Katom graduate. Mason is the sweetest child and  we look forward to watching him grow, develop, and learn in our classroom.

A month has come and gone, now November is here! Our new theme for this month is the famous children’s author, Bill Martin Jr. We have been incorporating his books during circle time. Chicka Chicka Boom Boom  and Chicka Chicka 1,2,3 are popular masterpieces of his that we read and sing regularly. It’s a cute song that could be sung on walks, during car rides, or even at home.

This week most of our children attended music with Cantor Havilio. Our goal is to participate in school activities as much as possible.  We do our best to attend music on Wednesdays and Shabbat on Fridays. We view school activities as an integral part of our curriculum.

Jewish values are important to us. For the month of November our Jewish value we are focusing on is Kavod, which means honor and respect. We show this by teaching our children to share, allowing personal space, and giving gentle touches. We practice kind gestures, have respectful conversations and use soft tones.

We hope you have a great weekend!
