Happy Friday Katom families!
We ended last week with a nice walk on Friday morning. With these hot days, it’s been tricky finding time to go outside, but when we do we turn it into a learning experience, we show and talk to the babies about the ducks, turtles, plants growing in the garden, etc.
This Sunday it’s Father’s Day! The babes have made a special gift for their dads! They enjoyed using their hands to paint the wooden hearts. We will be doing an art project once a week using different materials and textures.
We have also been focusing on reading stories. Children can be read to at any age as it’s the first step in developing their concentration, their beginning vocabulary, and it creates a bond between them and their caregiver.
Some theme related recommended books for the babies are, Brown Bear Brown Bear by Bill Martin Jr and Eric Carle, Bright Baby Colors, and Curious George Color Fun.
The babies engaged in circle time this week where we often play music, sing songs, and read books. They participate very nicely each in their own way. We sang songs like Old McDonald, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes. We also read books that the babies loved such as That’s Not My Zebras Colors by Usborne and Colors by Little Scholastic.
Enjoy your weekend celebrating Father’s Day!!
Kindly Miss Noa and Miss Clara.
