Happy Friday Adom families!
Our focus this week was pets. Pets are part of our families, and we love hearing our kids talk about their pets at home.
We started the week on Monday by reading Tiny’s Bath, a book about a big dog having trouble finding a tub to fit in! We gave baths to little doggies in water bins, using soap and washcloths to make sure they got all clean.
The next day we painted giant pictures of different kinds of pets and read a Lucy Cousins book on all the kinds of pets you can have. Each todd was so proud of their painting, and we now have all the pets on display in our classroom.
Tuesday was also Rose’s birthday! We had so much fun celebrating and reading stories from her favorite Daniel Tiger book. Happy birthday Rose!
On Wednesday we reread Pets before having an animal rescue mission! Their job was to “save” animals trapped under tape, before sorting them into pet or wild animals. These todds love playing with tape! Sticking and unsticking and crumpling is an easy way to work on finger strength.
The following day we read Kittens Love, a book about all the things kittens love to do, and then made our very own kitty masks! The kids dot-dotted paper plates and a teacher added a nose, whiskers, and ears to complete the look!
We have loved playing with some new things on the playground this week; it was nice to get lots of outside time again!
On Friday we plan to read What a Hungry Puppy! and feed pompoms to a very hungry tissue-box puppy. As always we will also have Shabbat and a tasty challah snack! Ms. Alyssa will be exploring all kinds of weather with us next week.
Shabbat Shalom and enjoy your weekend!
