Happy Friday, Adom families! We were so excited to welcome Thea to Adom this week! The other todds have loved bringing her toys and she quickly became at home in our classroom.
For the last two weeks, we’ve been having a blast with our camping unit! “Roasting marshmallows” over the “campfire” has been a favorite morning activity, and we made a bonfire on the big room wall to sit around and warm up by. We even had a tent in our classroom for part of the week, completing the camping experience!
We used yellow dot-dots, a toddler favorite, to make firefly jars. The todds also enjoyed painting with tinfoil balls and stamping them on paper stars, which are now hanging from our ceiling to make a starry night sky.
Last week we decorated toilet paper tubes to make binoculars, and on Tuesday we got to go on a nature walk and look for animals with our binoculars. The kids loved spotting ducks and turtles in the pond through their “noculars”!
We’ve had lots of time outside in the sun, running through the sprinkler and filling up buckets of water. It hasn’t been quite warm enough for water play most of this week, so we’ve been having fun with climbing, trucks, balls, and observing the occasional frog.
Next week we will start exploring books by Eric Carle, starting with The Hungry Caterpillar!
Have a fun and safe weekend!
Warmly, Miss Katie, Miss Hannah, and Miss Rebecca
