This week was all about the alphabet! We read the book Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and sang the ABCs every day! We are also welcoming Finley as an official toddler this week! We have already been having so much fun with him and are so glad to have him and his family as part of the Adom class.
On Monday during circle time we read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and sang the alphabet with shakers! All of the letters in the book climb up to the top of a coconut tree and crash down to the ground! It is a fun story with a good rhythm.
We also had art with Miss Beth where we made our Earth day crafts! First we read some fun books about our planet. Then we colored cut-outs of people and glued pieces of paper to make houses. Our people are on the camel and the houses are placed around our Earth in the art hallway!
Tuesday we had even more books to read because the pre-k and preschool rooms were very generous and let us borrow so many different ABC books! In the morning at the table I had a couple friends start on a special art project while others explored some magnet letters!
It was a nice day outside so we got out to the playground and then took a little walk for some extra fresh air.
There were also some surprises left for Miss Aly and me from our loving classroom parents and we feel so appreciated! Thank you!! And thank you for sharing your amazing kiddos with us!!
On Wednesday we continued reading our many different books and playing with magnet letters and a letter wood puzzle! It was a rainy day but nothing cheers us up like music class! Cantor Schwartz led some of the todds’ favorites and we sang a new song for Israel’s independence day!
After music and snack the toddlers practiced their running and jumping in the big room! It is crazy to see how all of the kids have grown since we first met them! Everyone likes to try to climb up and jump off of the climber and roll around on the mats.
Later we worked on a gift for our moms and made another little gift for some of the other special people in our lives!
Thursday we celebrated Yom Ha’azmaut! Israeli Independence Day! Everyone was wearing blue and white like the colors of Israel’s flag. The toddlers got to join in a very special activity with the older kids as we marched in a parade around the synagogue! We said happy birthday to Israel and listened to the pre-k friends sing their songs in Hebrew.
Friday will be our special person Shabbat! We are excited to share our weekly tradition with more friends and family. After we say the blessings and sing some songs, there will be challah and juice to eat together! Estelle will be our Shabbat helper.
Next week we will continue doing various alphabet related activities!
Have a nice weekend!
Shabbat Shalom, Miss Aly and Miss Maddie
