Adom Room אדום (Toddlers)

This week continued to be about learning the alphabet and also getting used to the nicer weather and bigger class!

On Monday we practiced what letters our names start with by painting large letters with dot-dots. Some friends can already recognize the first letter of their name!

During circle time we read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and clapped out the beat along with the story. We also sang the alphabet with instruments. The todds love singing the song super quiet and super speedy!

Tuesday was a very busy day in the Adom room! We have so many friends around that there are always fun games happening. Collecting toy produce in baskets, filling backpacks with books, and of course caring for all the baby dolls are some of the popular activities.

Today for our alphabet activity we did some poses from Aleph Bet Yoga! Miss Maddie also practiced signing the alphabet with the kids while we sang.

During circle time our puppet friend Adom went around and said good morning to everyone! Each todd has a turn to practice using eye contact and words or waving hello to Adom. The todds were definitely feeling wiggly today so we sang some movement songs like “If You’re Happy and You Know It”, “Shake Your Sillies Out”, and Firetruck!

On Wednesday we started with another project at the table that also incorporated more alphabet fun! The todds got to use the stamp pads and letter stamping sticks to “dot dot,” as they say, different letters on their paper.

It was such a nice day outside on Wednesday so we put on sunscreen and went to the playground to enjoy the sun!

The todds always have a lot of fun, goofy energy, so we did some more dancing songs during circle time and while waiting to wash hands like “Head Shoulders Knees and Toes” and “The Hokey Pokey”! It is extra special and fun when we sing songs together that everyone enjoys and participates in!

Thursday was another busy day of exciting games, lots of running around, and imaginary play! In the morning some of the todds wanted to start out with a classic favorite- pom pom sorting! Basically just some containers and large colorful craft pom poms to move, grab, and squish!

There was some rescheduling this week so we got a special Thursday music class with Rabbi Crimmings! We started off singing good morning to everyone and also practiced a prayer song for the pre-k graduation!

It was another lovely day so after snack we got more time playing on the playground!

Friday will be Shabbat and Jack will be the helper! We had a lot of fun singing and learning the alphabet this week and will probably keep singing it every day because the todds just love it and are so good at it!!

Next week we will start to learn about summer! Have a happy weekend!
