Knitting Mavens: When Bet Shalom clergy visit our members in the hospital or at a care facility, they bring the support of the congregation with them. Our Caring Community, a group committed to supporting the needs of Bet Shalom members, facilitates a number of initiatives each year, including card making by our youngest students to show support during times of need, and knitting. If you are interested in knitting blankets for our members with newborn babies or who are recovering from illness, click here for more information.
Baking for the Cookie Bank: A group of volunteers helps to keep our cookie bank stocked so that Bet Shalom has sweets available to help support Shiva gatherings for our members in mourning.
Rides to Bet Shalom: If you are in need of rides to or from Bet Shalom to join the community for Shabbat and Holiday services, or if you would like to volunteer to help with rides, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Bikur Cholim – Visiting the Sick: Our clergy regularly make pastoral visits to those in the hospital, nursing homes or at home. A group of volunteers has trained to make these visits to support our members as well. If you would like to arrange for someone from our Caring Community to visit you or a loved one, or to enquire about training to be a bikkur cholim volunteer, please contact email@example.com.
