Tu B’shevat Havdalah

January 30 | 7:00 pm

Please join the congregation for a special Havdalah program to celebrate Tu B’Shevat and take action with climate justice.

Tu B’shevat is a minor holiday rooted in a tree’s life cycle.  In modern times, Judaism has used this holiday to celebrate all aspects of preserving our environment.  Together we will learn more about climate change, injustices caused by the climate crisis, and gather actions we all can take to be stewards of our planet.  Committee members of the Climate Justice Team and BeSTY will lead us through a unique program.

We are hosting this event because we believe that the Jewish values of Tikkun Olam (repairing the world), tzedek (justice), and gemilut chasadim (performing deeds of loving kindness) require us to act for climate justice.

If you have questions or would like to request the zoom link/information, email rachel.calvert@betshalom.org.
