Kindergarten: Jackie’s Update

Hi everyone! Time flies when you are having fun…I can’t believe we have just one more week of Sunday school before winter break! It’s been an eventful few weeks. We spent the last couple weeks learning about God. The kids had thoughtful insights about God and questioning things appropriately. It’s always a fun unit with this age group. This past week we started learning about Hanukkah. Make sure to ask your kids what we know as a “traditional menorah” is really called (answer: hanukkiah). They learned about the miracle that occurred after the rebuilding of the temple and why we celebrate Hanukkah for 8 nights as a result. We will finish this unit up on Sunday with learning the rules for dreidel and playing the game, as well as a little Hanukkah BINGO. It will be a fun, laid back class to end 2019! There is also a choir performance from 11-11:30 this Sunday that you are invited to attend with your kids.

Mazel Tov to the following mensch winners from the last few week: Henry G, Henry R, Sydney and Phillip! Remember we don’t have school on 12/22 or 12/29. We will return to class on 1/5.

Thanks for continuing to support your kiddos at home and for allowing me to spend time with them each week. I truly enjoy each and every one of them! See you next year!!
