Hebrew Update: Gayle Kaplan

Shalom.  שלום

Our first new letter this month is the letter that makes the “r” sound   ר   .  Note how the  ר   has a rounded back.  That can help us remember that ר makes the “r” sound  –  rrrr – round.

Did you know that “racoon”  is exactly the same word in Hebrew – רקון ?

In November, we’ll start learning about the holiday that comes every week.  Which holiday is that?  Shabbat!

Before Shabbat, we say “Shabbat Shalom” –    שבת שלום    “Welcome Shabbat” or “May you have a peaceful Shabbat”.

After Shabbat is over, we wish each other “Shavuah Tov” –   שבוע טוב     “May you have a good week”.

Shavuah tov   שבוע טוב  to all of you.
