שָׁלוֹם – Shalom. Your students’ teachers invented some great games for students to play while reviewing letters of the week in February. Everyone had a lot of fun.
This week’s letter of the week is פּ (pei) – the “p” sound. פּ is why we’re having PAJAMA DAY this Sunday at Religious School.
The holiday of Purim – פּוּרִים is next week, which also makes it a good time to see the letter פּ.
The word פּוּר is related to the word “lottery” meaning a game of chance. Hamen threw “lots” to determine on which day all the Jews would be killed – the 14th day of the Hebrew month of Adar.
Unfortunately for him, it wound up being the day he died.
שַׁבוּעַ טוֹב! Shavu’ah tov! Have a great week.
