I am beyond thrilled to be teaching your 9th graders this year. This year, 9th graders are studying Comparative Religions – a pretty heady subject, but this class is exceptionally bright and insightful, and I can’t wait to dive in with them.
So far, we have talked about basic elements of religion, and how we can think about these concepts to compare different religions or branches of religion to each other.
We are beginning the year by discussing how wide the spectrum of Jewish belief is, but how we can use the elements of religion to develop a cohesive understanding of Jewish faith.
I am looking forward to delving into the different branches of Judaism, and then exploring religion outside of Judaism later in the year with your wonderful students!
