5th Grade: Michele’s Update

Hello 5th Grade Parents,

Your children loved making their own shofar this week during Religious School!  They learned all about the history of the ritual, turned their own rams horn into a shofar and  had a chance to practice making the sounds.
You’re welcome for the sound that will be filling your homes in the days to come! 🙂 Blowing shofar is not easy so thank you for your patience in supporting your child as they practice!
Questions to ask your child:

-When was a shofar blown during the biblical period?

-What animal the shofar comes from and why?

-Why is the shofar special on Rosh Hashanah?

-What are the different sounds of the shofar.

We’d like to invite all our 5th graders to blow shofar during our Children’s services on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.  Both services will be held at 10:15 am, in between the Ruach and Traditional AM services.

As always, be in touch any time with questions
