As we begin the new school year, the safety and security of our students is of the utmost importance to us all.

During Religious School Hours, please use the Religious School Entrance (on the north side of the building). The main entrance will be locked at this time to help ensure the safety and security of our students.

DROP-OFF
Students in Grades PK – 2 should be walked into the building and brought to their classroom by a responsible adult. Please do not leave your child alone. Be sure to leave her/him with the teacher or madrich (teaching assistant).

All other students in grades 3 and higher can either be walked into the building or dropped off at the Religious School entrance no earlier than 15 minutes prior to the beginning of school. Students are expected to go directly to the snack area on weekdays and their classroom on Sundays.

If you are bringing your child inside, please park in the parking lot. Please do not leave your car unattended in the carpool lane. If you will be dropping your child off at the Religious School entrance, please drive east on the driveway and let your child out in front of the door. Please do not park on the driveway or let your child out of your car from the left hand lane. This is to ensure that your child will not be walking in front of another car.

Students attending Wednesday Late Session can be dropped off at the school entrance and will be brought to the Social Hall at the end of class. Parents need to come into the building to pick up their students. This is a safety issue and we want to prevent any problems.

PICK-UP
Students will be picked up either from the Sanctuary, Auditorium or classrooms as indicated:

Sunday (Early and Late): PK-2—from auditorium; grades 3-7—from the classroom
Wednesday Early: all students picked up from auditorium
Wednesday Late: all students picked up from social hall
Thursday: all students picked up from auditorium

EARLY DISMISSAL
If you need to pick up your child early from Religious School, you must come into the Religious School office, sign your child out, and get a note from the office for the teacher. Students are not allowed to come down to wait for early pick-up in the office or anywhere else, even with a note from the parent to the teacher. This is for the safety of your child and so they are missing as little class as possible.

GOING HOME WITH FRIENDS
When your child will be going home with someone not listed on their registration form, please inform the office so we will be aware of the change in plans and can inform the teacher. The adult responsible for picking up your child must come to the office to sign out your child.

SNOW EMERGENCY
To be sure of a school closing, dial (952) 933-4757, extension 130, where an updated message will give complete information. In addition, notices of Bet Shalom school closings are broadcast over WCCO Radio (830 AM). Whenever possible, we will make phone calls to families to notify you of a school cancellation or send an emergency email if we have your email address.
