Bet Shalom Dedicated Funds     

Your contribution to a Bet Shalom fund is a meaningful and thoughtful way to convey your good wishes to others - whether to honor a joyous occasion in memory of a family loss. An appropriate remembrance card is sent for each contribution. You can choose from a variety of funds. A suggested minimum of $5 is requested for your donation. The funds are listed below.


ATTID FUND is used for the purpose of providing money towards projects that further the long-term growth and development of our community.

BAKER/SCHWIMMER FUND FOR THE HEARING IMPAIRED helps provide special resources, such as interpreters and equipment, for the hearing impaired.

LEONA BERLE ISRAEL SCHOLARSHIP FUND
provides scholarships to send children to Israel to further enrich their Jewish education.

CANTOR SARAH LIPSETT-ALLISON DISCRETIONARY FUND is used at the discretion of Cantor Lipsett-Allison for worthwhile projects and activities not covered by the congregation's budget.

CAPITAL FUND  used for capital improvements for our buildings and grounds.

1993 CONFIRMATION CLASS YOUTH ACTIVITIES FUND provides scholarships to send our high school students to youth group conclaves and activities.

DAVID DOLGINOW SCHOLAR IN RESIDENCE FUND to provide ongoing opportunities for the study of Torah for our congregation.

EDUCATION FUND aids our Religious School programs and further enhances our children's educational opportunities.

EQUIPMENT FUND is used to purchase or repair technical equipment for the synagogue.

EUGENE FABES ADULT EDUCATION FUND provides adult education opportunities and programs.

GENERAL FUND is used in whatever way is most needed for the operation of the synagogue.

INCLUSION OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES FUND to ensure that people with disabilities and their families are able to fully participate in congregational life.

JACKIE HIRSCH MEMORIAL CARING COMMUNITY FUND for programs developed by the Caring Community.

JUDAICA FUND is used to purchase ritual items for the synagogue.

LANDSCAPE FUND provides for design, installation and maintenance of the landscape.

LEDER FAMILY MITZVAH FUND to established to provide financial aid to people in need.

LIBRARY FUND helps to purchase books and periodicals for our library.

LONSTEIN/KLAFF TEACHER TRAINING FUND is used to further train and develop our teaching staff through conferences and conventions.

MACHOV/EISENSTATT KITCHEN IMPROVEMENT FUND helps to renovate and upgrade our kitchen facilities.

CHUCK MILLER BUILDING FUND used for improvements and enhancements of our facility.

MOSS FAMILY RELIGIOUS SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP FUND provides scholarships for our congregants to our Religious School, so that all children are ensured a Jewish education.

MUSIC FUND provides support to our music programs including choirs, workshops, materials and professional development.

ONEG FUND provides sweets and beverages for your enjoyment after Shabbat services.

ERNIE PESIS ISRAEL SCHOLARSHIP FUND provides scholarships for young people to participate in educational programs in Israel.

PRAYER BOOK FUND provides for the replacement and repair of our prayer books. A donation of $20 will ensure that a plate will be placed in a prayer book in honor or in memory of a loved one. A donation of $50 will inscribe a Torah Commentary.

PROGRAM FUND is used for program development by all Bet Shalom committees.

RABBI NORMAN M. COHEN HUC-JIR SCHOLARSHIP FUND awards scholarships to members of Bet Shalom Congregation and their children who are engaged in degree-conferring programs at Hebrew Union College.

RABBI NORMAN M. COHEN DISCRETIONARY FUND is used at the discretion of Rabbi Cohen for worthwhile projects and activities not covered by the congregation's budget.

RABBI DAVID LOCKETZ DISCRETIONARY FUND is used at the discretion of Rabbi Locketz for worthwhile projects and activities not covered by the congregation's budget.

MAX & LINDA RUTMAN FAMILY BUILDING MAINTENANCE FUND is used to repair or replace worn or obsolete components of our present facility.

JOE SILBERMAN & MOE MICKLIN CAMPERSHIP FUND provides scholarships for young people to attend Jewish camp programs.

JOANNA SIMER MEMORIAL FUND
provides scholarships to confirmation students to enable their participation in the annual class trip and supplements other special class activities.

JACK TANICK MEMORIAL CHILDREN’S FUND provides scholarships for children and youth, enabling them to participate in Jewish educational programs, both formal and informal.

PAUL THOMAS BAR/BAT MITZVAH SCHOLARSHIP FUND provides the financial assistance to needy students for Bar/Bat Mitzvah tutoring.

TZEDAKA FUND allows Bet Shalom to provide support to outside charities.

PRESCHOOL FUND will provide program support for Shalom Yeladim (Bet Shalom Preschool).


The above funds are the dedicated funds. In addition to these, there are other opportunities for your generous contributions:

MEMORIAL PLAQUES memorialize a loved one by adding his or her name to the Yahrzeit boards in our sanctuary. The contribution for a memorial plaque is $200.

SIMCHA & KAVOD TREE a donation of either $200 in cash or an item with a minimum value of $200 will allow you to have an engraved leaf placed on the Simcha & Kavod Tree which is located in the social hall of our building. A $5,000 donation allows the placement of a foundation rock at the base of the tree.
