Shabbat Shirah - February 9

Our Shabbat Service celebrating Shabbat Shirah (Sabbath of Song) will be Friday, February 9th at 8:00 pm. The Adult Choirs of Bet Shalom and Shir Tikvah will join for our 10th year of making beautiful music together! This year we will feature the music of contemporary composer Gerald Cohen.

Gerald Cohen is one of the most gifted composers of Jewish music in our time. His music has been commissioned by choruses including the New York Virtuoso Singers, the Canticum Novum Singers, the Syracuse Children’s Chorus, St. Bartholomew’s Church (New York, NY), the Zamir Chorale of Boston, and the Usdan Center Chorus. Gerald Cohen has received the Max Wohlberg Award for Distinguished Achievement in the field of Jewish composition from the Cantors Assembly. He is Cantor at Shaarei Tikvah Congregation in Scarsdale, N.Y. and is on the faculty of the H.L. Miller Cantorial School of the Jewish Theological Seminary.
